Ukrainian women. Power&Resilience - social documentary photoproject A deep look into the lives of Ukrainian Women Abroad Photographer Oksana Lytvynenko, originally from Kyiv, now lives in Swindon. Before the full-scale war, she worked as a family photographer for over 10 years. After a period of re-evaluation, she earned a degree in psychology. The full-scale invasion caused her to stop shooting, but over time, she felt a strong need to return to photography with a new vision. "That's how the idea for this project was born, as it combines these two spheres of my life," Oksana says. The project consists of a series of black-and-white portraits, each accompanied by the subject's personal story. It explores the lives of Ukrainian women abroad—their feelings, challenges, and their connection to their homeland. The photographs capture a range of emotions, from pain and longing to moments of joy and hope. The project will feature 100 women from various regions of Ukraine. The "Ukrainian women. Power&Resilience" project aims to create a dialogue: For Ukrainian women abroad: to help them feel seen, understood, and validated in their experiences and feelings. For the international community: to show what lies behind the daily smiles. For Ukrainians at home: to convey that life abroad is often a challenging journey with its own set of struggles.
